The Pelham is commonly used with horses that prove too strong in a snaffle. It uses a leverage action and poll pressure alongside mouth pressure to give the rider a greater degree of control.
The Neue Schule Tranz Angled Lozenge Pelham is ideal for showing, offering aesthetic appeal, comfort and functionality. With a lightweight and elegant cheek design, this Neue Schule Pelham is made from a warmer, softer metal which encourages the horse to accept the bit more readily. The mouthpiece features a Tranz Angled Lozenge, which has a rounded shape to prevent too much pressure on the tongue. This lozenge promotes salivation and mouthing, allowing the horse to soften and not lean.
